The first day of the last month

As we embark on the first day of the last month of 2011 – I sought a quote and discovered more. That’s how it normally goes for me which is why I love seeking out the words and wisdom of others.

This was written by Wilma Rudolph who was the first woman to win three gold medals in track and field in 1960. She came from a family with 22 children –

Wilma said, “Sometimes it takes years to really grasp what has happened to your life.”

Think on that for a moment – it takes YEARS to really grasp what has happened to your life. It would seem to me it takes some reflection also – which is why it’s a good habit to look back over your past month – your past year and find the treasures and the lessons.

She said one other thing I think is worth sharing today, “The triumph can’t be had without the struggle.” And so – though struggle is a word I find less than stellar – I know it’s the struggle of the butterfly getting out of its cocoon that makes it strong – so there are some challenges and life situations that even though difficult at the time – give us greater gifts!

Today – think about your life – are you living the one you want?

Remember, you create your day by the way you think. Make is magnificent!

Blessings, Shawna
