People Skills: Friend Focus

This week the theme is friendship – it wasn’t intended – I was a bit behind in determining the theme – and then, after I’d sent a birthday card and flowers to my friend Jeanne in California – I received a small package in the mail – from her – and it was a book of quotes – the front cover had only one word on it – no author, no publisher, no promotional copy – just one word – friend.

Jeanne has given me many books – which I adore – and friends know what you adore – and this quote book is small, well done, two colored and lacks page numbers – it is truly a gift, filled with thoughts on friends –

So this week – I’ll share some of those thoughts – I want also to encourage you to reach out to your friends – to call some, email some, see some, make some. Because our friends make life not only fun, filled and fabulous – they make life richer, better and more valuable.

Here is the first quote of the week from Margaret Wheatley,

“When we seek for connection, we restore the world to wholeness. Our seemingly separate lives become meaningful as we discover how truly necessary we are to each other.”

I liked this because I think, or hope, that we can restore the world to wholeness – and remembering our connectedness is a good way to begin.

Fun for friends:

A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class, because it was a weapon of math disruption.

Remember you create your day by the way you think – be present, be a friend and make it magnificent!

Blessings, Shawna
