People Skills: The Power Note

This week we are discussing the amazing people skill of the power note –

Today it’s about the power of a note.

In a world where it’s easiest to email – or text – no worry about tone of voice, no extra step to get out pen and paper, no cost of materials or postage – when a person actually decides to send a note – and I’m not speaking of simply a Thank You Note – I’m speaking about a Power Note – then not sending them shows: Laziness or lack of caring

Wait a minute you might be thinking – “I did the email or text follow up – I get points for that!” and you do – however you only did the basic – and it’s the extraordinary that stands out.

So using the underutilized relational touch of sending an actual note, with a stamp and hand written address and message is smart – it takes planning – and it has a cost – however a real, tangible paper note is a gift – one you can hold in your hand, a physical touch that uses the senses – of touch, sight, smell and feeling – how fab is that?

Action step today – get your cards ready – go purchase some you love, buy stamps, make a place to access them easily – this is the first step in making sending a power note as easy as the other less effective ways you stay in touch.

You create your day by the way you think. Make it magnificent!
