People Skills: Tell Me More

Another way to show great people skills and continue conversations is the “Tell me more and Teach me” techniques.

Showing interest in another person is heady stuff – when someone gives you their attention it’s rare and exciting and fun – people love to talk – especially about themselves.

So when you encourage conversation with a comment like, “Tell me more.” People open up and spill so much information because you asked.

Another phrase that my mentor taught me is, “Teach me.” This shows you are open to learn and that you think the person you’re speaking to holds some important pieces of information. When you ask someone to teach you something, you humble yourself and the other person can step up and lead, so you learn even more about whom they are and how they interact.

You create your day by the way you think. Make it magnificent!
