People Skills: Starting conversations

To be a great conversationalist – and show great people skills – it helps to ask others open ended questions in conversation.

Example:

Closed:                                                            Open

Is the weather always like this?                      What do you think of the weather?

Closed ended questions are the yes or no kind –

Open ended questions are ones that give you a better feel for a person and their thinking.

An easy thing to remember is simply asking: What do you think? About life, art, the location, sports teams etc.

It complements the person and you then also get to find out what they think – a true win win!

You create your day by the way you think. Make it magnificent!
