When Out & About

Networking first impressions:
Have intent when you arrive – and make it be an outward intent – when you begin with a desire to serve others respond in like manner.

Shaking hands – grab, glance and grin
Prepare to extend a hand – so keep a beverage in your left hand or refrain from eating and drinking until the program has begun or later after you’ve circulated.

First to extend –
Be the one who smiles first, holds you a hand first, asks the first question – it’s a sure way to put people at ease.

Only give a card when asked
Though everyone you meet has value, not all of the people you meet will be future friends. Be selective with who you give a business card to – and wait until the time is right to extend this offer or wait until they ask.
