Wholesome philosophy

Today’s quote is sage advice also and comes from Bliss Perry (love that name – Bliss) “To make the most of dull hours, to make the best of dull people, to like a poor jest better than none. To wear a threadbare coat like a gentlemen; to be outvoted with a smile, to hitch your wagon to the old horse if no star is handy – that is wholesome philosophy.”

Some more fun with philosophy –
A boy was about to go on this first date, and asked his father for advice on what to talk about. His father replied: “My son, there are three subjects that always work: food, family and philosophy.”

The boy picked up his date and soon found himself at a loss. He remembered his father’s advice, and chose the first topic, asking the girl: “Do you like pancakes? She said “No.” and the silence returned.

After a few more uncomfortable minutes, the boy tried the second subject. He asked, “Do you have a brother?” Again, the girl said “No,” and again, silence.

The boy then played his last card. He thought of his father’s advice and asked the girl: “If you did have a brother, would he like pancakes?”
